With 15 years senior level global experience in the restaurant industry, you need to look no further for your hospitality talent needs. James started working in his local Pizzeria at the tender age of 15 in the pot wash, washing up for pocket money.

He committed to his hospitality management career when he reached 19 when he was successful in being accepted on the Pizza Express management- training program in London, England. He worked his way through a number of businesses such as The Real Greek (London), Harrods Restaurants (Knightsbridge, London) and ultimately became a GM of Operations managing nearly 50 restaurants with Mad Mex in Sydney.

James has been responsible for the opening of around 100 restaurants in his career – this is a lot of hiring! Moving into recruitment seemed like a natural move for someone with his skills set. James is now using his hospitality knowledge and passion for the recruitment of restaurant professionals for Australia from all over the world.

James founded The Talent Kitchen in 2014 with the goal using his skills to find the best candidates for his clients. He continually aims to over deliver on service levels and is striving to create a business based on passion, honesty and integrity.

Diana has been in the recruitment industry, more specifically catering & hospitality recruitment, for the past eight years.

Having grown, developed and managed a large team in London, Diana made the move to Sydney to join the Talent Kitchen. Setting up the casual staffing division was Diana’s initial task and with that now established and doing very well, Diana’s role has evolved into General Manager of The Talent Kitchen.

Diana loves a challenge and is not afraid to take one on! Incredibly personable, she loves meeting new people and networking within the industry. With a background in hospitality, having worked as a Chef years ago, Diana understands the needs of both clients and candidates. Samuel Linthorne

Samuel’s main passion and strength in hospitality has always been the people side of things! Since his first role at 15 as a waiter in a restaurant back in the UK (bless!) to university working in bars then in Canada and London in pubs, clubs and restaurants – he’s really been all over and can tell you a thing or two about the international and local hospitality scene.

Quickly snapped up by the infamous restaurant Group Bills, Sam worked his way up to Restaurant Manager, which sure enough, involved extensive amounts of hiring, training, leadership and being an all-round legend (even if he does say so himself!) During this time, he always placed great emphasis on building strong teams, recruiting the right staff and driving an inclusive, supportive culture – he knew his main strength was in relationship building and forming strong connections with his team and customers. He has a keen awareness and understanding of the importance of having the right staff in the right places from a Restaurant Manager perspective.

With a love of building genuine relationships with both candidates and clients Sam moved seamlessly into hospitality recruitment. Putting his well honed investigative and negotiation skills to work – he strives to find the right roles for the right people.

Megan’s earliest taste for the hospitality industry came with her first part time job as a waitress working weekends at her local cafe when she was in year ten.

It was here that she realized her passion for both delivering memorable and quality customer service and genuine love of an industry that allows you to interact with a diverse range of people.

Whilst studying a Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology with majors of Human Resources and Marketing, Megan continued to gain first hand experience in the front of house sector of the industry working in cafes and at various social events around Sydney.

These roles taught Megan how to work in challenging environments, which require flexibility to adapt to reactive environments, and highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure needs are satisfied and trust is developed.

Having recently graduated, Megan is ready to hit the ground running by combining both the management and coordination of people skills studied within her degree, with her practical knowledge of how the industry operates to deliver the most beneficial and positive outcome for both candidate and client.

Brian possesses 15 years of Hospitality Management experience across the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Following the completion of his Master’s Degree in Management from Queens University Belfast Brian was approached to take charge of an iconic Hotel here in Australia, ultimately leading the venue to 8 State and 3 National awards. Brian transitioned into National Hospitality Certification, Franchise Auditing and ultimately Talent Acquisition.

Joining “The Talent Kitchen” from an International Agency, Brian oversees recruitment in Tasmania, SA, WA, NT and Victoria. His recruitment ethos centres around collaborative partnerships, cultural awareness, clear communication and honesty.
